Our IELTS Preparation Course is for students who wish to prepare for the internationally recognised IELTS Exam. IELTS (International Language Testing System) measures your ability to use academic English and is the entry requirement for those students wishing to study in an English-speaking university.
Our IELTS preparation courses are suited to both lower (4.5-5.5) and higher (6.0-7.5) level IELTS students. The IELTS preparation course aims to develop your general English language and skills knowledge while also providing thorough preparation in the format of the IELTS exam. Classes focus on the format of the exam (both general and academic as required) and on improving test-taking techniques. Through our integrated exam practice, you will strengthen your ability to respond effectively to exam tasks and maximize your IELTS score.
A students CEC Experience begins before they travel to Cork with our online English level test. This short test confirms a student’s current level and helps us to place them in the best class for their success.

What type of activities can I look forward to?
We endeavour to cater for most tastes when it comes to activities, so we provide a wide choice, ranging from cultural visits to historic places of interest, to sports and lively night out. We want to make sure that you enjoy yourselves while you’re studying.
How will I get to the school?
All of our accommodation is either within easy walking distance of the school or within easy reach by public transport.
Where is the school located?
The school is located right in the heart of Cork, on the banks of the river Lee, but we’ll keep you too busy to admire the view! It is also within close walking distance of Cork’s main bus terminus and railway station.
Who else will be studying there?
We have students from all over the world studying with us, which adds greatly to the friendly atmosphere. So far in 2023 we have had over 40 different nationalities study with us already!
Can I change my accommodation if I don’t like it?
Yes, our aim is to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible during your stay in Cork. If you have any issue with your accommodation we can arrange for you to speak with our dedicated accommodation office to find a solution.
What type of accommodation can I expect?
What type of accommodation would you like? We have a full range of options from living with a host family to self-catering apartments and hotels.
Will I be able to use the internet and email?
Yes, we have high speed Wi-Fi available for all students in each of our school buildings.
Will I get a certificate at the end of my course?
Yes, we’re a fully accredited and recognised school. You’ll receive a certificate of attendance at the end of your programme stating your exit level, course title and number of weeks. Don’t forget to get your photo taken with your certificate on your last day!
