SAMPLE AFTERNOON ADULT ACTIVITY PROGRAMME

The following is a sample activity programme for the adult courses. As you can see, there is something to do nearly every day. Apart from the activities indicated below, we also have a multi-media lab with free access to the internet. Students also have FREE access to Wi-Fi in all of our buildings. Some of the activities below do incur a cost which would be between €2 - €35. These are for the visits and transport but we always place a guide with the students, free of charge.

Day One	Sunday Arrive in Cork	Meet with your host family and go home for well-deserved rest.
Day Two	Monday Free orientation tour of Cork City	Afternoon orientation visit of Cork City. FREE of charge. The teacher will guide you around the city centre and show you places like the local supermarket, bus station, post office etc.
Day Three	Tuesday University College Cork and Glucksman Gallery	A National University of Ireland since 1908, Queen Victoria opened U.C.C. in 1849, and is considered to be the most successful example of 19^th Century architecture in the country. A teacher accompanies students to the university on foot from the school which takes approximately 15 minutes. FREE of charge.
Day Four	Wednesday Free Conversation Class Pub Evening	A free, enjoyable and hugely popular additional afternoon lesson EVENING: Pub Evening with other students and teachers. A great way to see local pub life in Cork while meeting other students.
Day Five	Thursday Fitzgerald Park and Cork Public Museum	This park possesses beautiful gardens which contain sculptures by Seamus Murphy and John Burke. The park also houses the Public Museumand is housed in a two storey Georgian house. FREE of charge.
Day Six	Friday Half day Excursion to Cobh, The Queenstown Tour.	Students will be accompanied by a teacher to the Queenstown tour via train. You will get the opportunity to see the magnificent sites in Cobh and learn about a very important part of history. Approx €15
Day Seven	Saturday Full day Excursion to Killarney	For centuries, famous poets and writers have yielded to Killarney’s glamour. It is very romantic. Killarney is not merely pretty but has a serene majesty in its beauty. Approx €30
Day Eight	Sunday Family Day	A family day where the student spends some quality time with his/her host family.
