Teacher Refresher Course - TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test)

The TKT Course at Cork English College aims to not only prepare teachers to sit the TKT exam, but also to give a thorough foundation in the methodology of Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Each session includes a review and introduction of the terminology used to describe language and teaching. Using this terminology, course participants explore teaching methodologies, lesson planning, classroom management and a variety of skills and materials, reflecting on and sharing their teaching experience. Input sessions are referenced to the relevant section of the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test, fully covering all aspects tested, and thoroughly preparing course participants to successfully sit any module of the test. However, the course is not only useful for teachers wishing to take the TKT, as each session is a useful way to refresh basic teaching ideas and explore practical approaches and activities for teaching which can then be used in the classroom. Course Includes:
- 25 Lessons per week. Each Lesson = 60 minutes
- Use of all pedagogical material
- Maximum 15 participants per class
- Certificate at the end of the course
- Afternoon Social and Cultural Programme
- Evening Social Programme
- Transfers to and from Cork Airport (If host family accommodation arranged
