General English Courses
Cork English College’s General English Courses focus on effective communication and include comprehensive work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Vocabulary is introduced and practised at every stage of the lesson and particular attention is paid to high frequency, internationally useful words and phrases. Special emphasis is given to communicating effectively and accurately and error correction plays an important role in classes. New language is practised through meaningful speaking tasks and discussions, which include regular integrated work on pronunciation. By the end of the course students will be better able to use English more accurately and effectively and with more confidence.

Business English
The Business English Course is perfect for students of business, those already working in the business environment and in regular contact with business clients and also those who will be working in English in the future. ON this course students expand their business related vocabulary and skills knowledge in English while at the same time improving overall grammatical accuracy and communicative competence. Students improve their business communication vocabulary and ability to speak about a wide variety of business topics. Our flexible, rolling enrolment option allows students to start every Monday and is unique in terms of traditional business courses.

Exam Preparation
Increasing numbers of English language students find that they require an official, recognised qualification in English. Cork English College offers exam preparation courses for a number of internationally recognised exams. All exam courses focus on helping students improve their English language knowledge and skills, while providing a thorough preparation for the exam they wish to take.
Cork English College is an authorised Cambridge Exam Centre for FCE and CAE and is also an official TOEIC testing centre.

Internship Programme
The Cork English College Internship Programme allows students the opportunity to put the language skills they acquired while on a course to practical use. Students first attend a language course for a period of at least four weeks until they have reached a good B2 level. This is followed by an internship in a company for a minimum of 2 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks. Ideally students should choose an area which is related to their studies or a field in which they later intend to work. While on the placement, students are given meaningful tasks but always work under supervision.
Teacher Training Courses
Cork English College specialises in Teacher Refresher Courses for teachers of English in primary and secondary schools and CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) courses for teachers who teach or may in the future teach other subjects such as Maths, Geography etc, through English. Our courses are very practical and combine language improvement with methodology, materials development and a variety of ideas and activities which teacher can use immediately in their classrooms. All courses are eligible for COMENIUS funding

English for Specific Purposes
Cork English College is a well established centre for both Military English and Aviation English. Students on these courses improved their general Engliah knowledge while also perfecting the language and skill necessary to take the relevant professional examination. Our experienced trainers have successfully prepared students for STANAG 3 and 4 and enabled ATCs achieve ICAO level 4 and higher.
English for Academic Purposes
Cork English College’s EAP programmes have been specially designed to prepare international students for studying in English in the Further and Higher Education Systems.These courses are perfect for learners who wish to improve their academic and linguistic skills and who may also require a recognised English exam score to successfully gain entry to a Further or Higher Education institution in an English-speaking envirnoment.
