Cork English College

English lessons and soccer in Cork.
This programme is available to junior students between the ages of 12 and 17.
The courses offer a combination of language tuition in the mornings with sailing and cultural activities in the afternoons and evenings.

Accommodation:
Students reside with carefully selected Irish host families while on this programme. The accommodation is on a full board basis. Students share a room with a student of another nationality. This allows students to experience Irish family life while continuing to put their language skills to practical use.

Activities:
As well as participating in language classes every morning from Monday to Friday, students can then enjoy five afternoons of soccer training and matches. In the evenings students can participate in karaoke, bingo and a disco.A full day excursion to a venue of historical or cultural interest outside Cork is also included as part of the programme and takes place on Saturdays.

Academic:
Classes are interactive and the main focus is on improving the students’ spoken ability and vocabulary expansion.  All students are tested on arrival to ensure they are placed in classes with students of a similar level in the language. A progress test every Friday ensures that the progress of each individual is monitored on an ongoing basis.

CEC teachers are native English speakers and fully qualified in the teaching of English as a foreign language. All possess a primary degree in addition to TEFL qualifications. All centres are recognised by the Irish Dept. of Education. The use of course materials is included. The average number of students per class is 10-12 with a maximum of 15.
