Summer Junior Programme in Cork: English and Multi Activity (Host Family)
This programme is available to junior students between the ages of 12 and 17.
The courses offer a combination of language tuition in the mornings with sporting and cultural activities in the afternoons and evenings.

    Accommodation:
Students reside with carefully selected Irish host families in the same area/close to the area where the junior school is located. Accommodation is on a full board basis. Students share a room with a student of another nationality. This allows students to experience Irish family life while continuing to put their language skills to practical use.

    Activities:
Students enjoy activities and excursions in the afternoon and evenings with a full day trip provided every Saturday to a venue further afield. Afternoon activities consist of visits to venues of cultural and historical interest and evening activities consist of a disco, karaoke and bingo.

    Academic:
Students attend classes in the mornings from 9.30 to 12.45.  All students are assessed for language ability on arrival and are then placed in classes with students of a similar level. Classes are interactive and the main focus is on improving the students’ spoken ability and vocabulary expansion. A progress test every Friday ensures that the progress of each individual is monitored on an ongoing basis.

CEC teachers are native English speakers and fully qualified in the teaching of English as a foreign language. All possess a primary degree in addition to TEFL qualifications. All centres are recognised by the Irish Dept. of Education. The use of course materials is included. The average number of students per class is 10-12 with a maximum of 15. Students are monitored by group leaders and CEC teachers at all times.

This programme is available to both groups and individuals.
