Course Details:
Learn Aviation English in Cork.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) mandated new aviation standards of English proficiency for flight crew members and air traffic controllers from March 5, 2011.The aims of the Cork English College English for Aviation Course is to enable aviation students to successfully pass international exams in Aviation English and achieve a minimum level 4 of the ICAO requirements. The course places an emphasis on listening comprehension, spoken interaction and production.
Lessons focus on improving learner’s communication skills and consolidating basic grammar knowledge for use in plain English in addition to practicing standard phraseology for use in routine situations. Through the course, students will develop and consolidate their general grammar, their lexical knowledge and communication skills for use in non-routine communications. Specialised English for Aviation classes will focus on using plain English in an aviation context and developing and practicing standard phraseology in appropriate situations. Integrated pronunciation work is featured throughout the course.
The course is ideal for learners who lack or need to review the standard phraseology, routine language and listening and speaking skills necessary to achieve minimum ICAO level 4.
CEC offers flexibly structured training courses for pilots, air traffic controllers and other aviation professionals adapted to meet the requirements of the ICAO published guidelines. Courses are designed for small groups of trainees to meet the precise requirements of individual sponsors. The structure and content of the study programme will vary depending on the respective training objectives and the language entry level of participants.
