Course Details:
Take a Foundation Programme in Business in Ireland.
This is a one year International Foundation course as a direct pathway to an Irish university degree programme. International students will acquire the foundation knowledge skills and competence required to successfully participate and embark on a degree programme alongside their Irish counterparts. This course will enable them to maximise their potential and make a successful transition to higher education business degree programmes.Pre-requisites:
International Applicants must have completed high school and have achieved an IELTS score of 5.0 / TOEFL 500 or equivalent to be eligible for entry. The validation of such international qualifications will be confirmed in accordance with the NQAI (National Qualifications Authority of Ireland http://www.nqai.ie) and/or the based NARIC (National Recognition Information Centre http://www.naric.org.uk).
Course Aim:
- To develop the learners academic and professional English language skills to a level that will allow them to pursue business degree programmes.
- To give learners an introduction to lifelong learning and study, providing the practical skills and knowledge they need to maximise their potential and to make a successful transition to higher education.
- To provide a planned experiential learning activity that involves learners preparing and planning for entry to Higher Education, participating in a structured programme of educational guidance with taster activities in Higher Education, and reviewing and evaluating that experience.
- To enable the learner to extend their mathematical skills, to master selected new mathematics and to extend mathematical problem solving skills.
- To provide learners with an introduction to statistics and to provide them with the skills to enable them to compile, present and interpret data.
- To give the learner the relevant knowledge and skills to use the internet and information technology as a communication and research tool.
- To provide the learner with specific academic orientation in Business in subjects such as Business Administration and Applied Economics.
